Linda Rowe Linda Rowe

Linda Rowe (Hutchinson) has been practicing yoga for over 14 years. She's been teaching for over 9 years. She brings varied experiences to her class including the teachings of Yogi Amrit Desai, Bhagavan Das, and Swami Divyananda Saraswatiji. Her yoga practice began in New Paltz, NY at the Mid Hudson School of Yoga and continued with Kim Valeri of YogaSpirit Studios in Essex, MA. Linda has a Registered Yoga Teacher certification which means you know you're taking a class with a teacher who has a solid foundation and experience in the classroom. Linda completed a level 1 certification from the WiseEarth School of Ayurveda and continues her Ayurvedic studies. She is also a Level II Reiki practitioner and works with other energy modalities. Linda's class is an eclectic mix of yoga influences, including Kripalu, Iyengar and Anusara. In her former life, Linda received her B.A. in Speech Communication from UM at Orono ('85) and later, her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from UCONN ('91). She facilitates workshops on mindfulness-based stress reduction and other topics as well. Linda also offers public speaking to groups. TO REACH LINDA - 207-551-4055

NEW YOGA CD    Linda has a no-frills yoga class on cd available for purchase for yoga students. Call, email or stop by to get your copy. She has a Soft Stretch Class and a Beginner Level 1 Class on cd. Cost is just $10/cd!
 
INTRO TO YOGA    The first week of each month is "Introductory to Yoga" week. Any class in the first week of each month is open for you to come and try an introductory class. Please call at least 24 hours before you come to let me know. Allow for more time to contact me if you are having a big or chronic physical issues.
 
Stress Class    Everyone has it in their lives, yet some seem better equipped than others in dealing with their stress. Is your doctor suggesting that you find ways to address the stress you experience? This 8 week session offers you a chance to break out of stressful habitual situations and to refine and affirm what you may already be doing to keep your stressful thoughts at bay. This program offers you techniques to increase your skills of self-awareness and ways to create deep relaxation when you need it most. These sessions are broken up into lecture/discussion AND actual practice time. Through foundational breathing practices, basic stretches for the body, a systematic relaxation, meditation and self-inquiry practices you gain back the control of your life and the direction it takes. Chronic stress has become such a normal way of living life that we have forgotten what life is like with less/no stress. Student Tips    New students are welcomed during the first week of each month to any class with an advance call or email. It is recommended that yoga be practiced on an empty or near empty stomach. A good meal taken 2-3 hours prior to class is fine or a light, healthy snack closer to class time. Wear clothing that is comfortable but not too loose or baggy as it will get in your way. Bring a second layer for the relaxation part of class as you will cool down quickly. If you are just getting over a cold/flu you are probably fine to come to class, this is your decision. If you have been sneezing and coughing, sending the little germs everywhere, it may be best for all of us if you stayed home and rested.

MARS HILL CLASS & FEE    Active Senior Yoga Stretch Class: THURSDAYS 9-10:15am at the Mars Hill Rec Center Gym Foyer. Fee is $32.00/4 classes a month. Please call to reserve your spot, or answer questions on health concerns.
 
PRESQUE ISLE CLASSES & FEE    WINTER 2010 _____________________________________________________________ Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-7pm at the Nordic Ski Lodge. Classes are paid for by the month $9/class x how many classes you can take OR $12 drop in/pay by the class.
 
PRIVATE SESSION    Private Sessions or Semi Private Sessions are available by appointment.----- Sessions are $40.00/session OR 3 sessions/$100.00. A great way to get some more direct guidance alone or in a small group
 
PRIVATE HEALING SESSION    Yogic Healing and Guidance Sessions: Healing works by transforming physical pain, emotional or mental suffering and karma that comes from a deeply rooted sense of incompleteness and separation. Starting from the core of our being out through the periphery of the physical body, Linda helps to liberate patterns of limiting consciousness to bring about healing through active listening, guided self-inquiry, laying of hands and sound.
 
WORKSHOPS    Linda can customize a mindfulness-based stress reduction workshop to your group. There are many levels and ways to bring stress levels down. She's worked with many populations. Call to discuss your needs and find out if Linda's approach will work for you!
 
PUBLIC SPEAKING    Linda offers talks of an inspirational nature to groups. She can adapt her talk to your needs in the area of living, loving, working and being well. Linda will most likely make it somewhat interactive and include physical movement. She has the capability to offer a power point type presentation.
 
BIRTHDAY PARTIES    If you are doing a theme party with friends on being good to yourselves or treating yourselves, consider offering a tailored yoga experience at your house or at the studio. $70/hour
